Roof Repair

Roof Repair in Oklahoma City

Roof repair fixes a specific problem without replacing the whole roof: a leak, failed flashing, a cracked pipe boot, missing shingles or a bad tie-in at an addition. It makes sense when the rest of the roof is in good shape. Tusk Roofing finds the source of the problem and repairs it across the Oklahoma City metro.

Tracking down a leak

Water rarely comes in where the stain shows up. It travels along rafters and decking before it drips. We start in the attic where accessible, follow the water trail, and check the roof above for the real entry point, which is usually flashing, a pipe boot, a nail pop or a damaged shingle.

Flashing and pipe boots

Flashing is the metal that seals where the roof meets walls, chimneys, skylights and valleys. Pipe boots seal around plumbing vents. Both are common leak points: flashing can pull loose or rust, and the rubber collar on a pipe boot cracks in the sun. Replacing them is often a straightforward repair.

When repair stops making sense

If leaks keep showing up in different places, shingles are brittle or curling across the roof, or storm damage covers several slopes, patching becomes a cycle. At that point we'll tell you plainly that a replacement is the better use of your money, and show you the photos that led us there.

Questions

Roof Repair FAQ

Why is my ceiling stain not under the leak?

Water travels along rafters, decking and insulation before it drips through the ceiling. The entry point on the roof can be several feet away from the stain.

What's a pipe boot and why does it leak?

It's the flashing around a plumbing vent pipe. Most have a rubber collar that seals the pipe, and that rubber cracks over time in the sun, letting water run down the pipe into the attic.

Can you repair just part of a roof after a storm?

Yes, when the damage is limited to a small area and matching materials are available. If damage is spread across the roof, a replacement may make more sense.

Can you match my existing shingles?

We look for the same product line or the closest available match. On older roofs, color can differ slightly because the existing shingles have weathered.

How do I know if I need a repair or a replacement?

We base it on what we find: how widespread the damage is, the condition of the shingles and deck, and whether the problem keeps coming back. We'll show you the photos and explain our recommendation.
